The Capitol was first occupied by the Legislature on Monday, November 3, 1794. The first floor contained the offices of the State Auditor, Treasurer, Registrar of the Land Office, and Public Printer; the second floor, the hall of the House of Representatives & committee rooms, along with courtrooms; and the third floor, the Senate chamber and offices of the Secretary of State.
