In an April 25, 2005, press release, Secretary of State Trey Grayson announced the office has a new online presence, located at http://sos.ky.gov effective this date.
The newly-designed website offers information on all office responsibilities, including business services, elections, administrative services, land records, and executive information. The previous website regularly received over 1.5 million hits a month, making it one of Kentucky state government's most popular sites.
New services for the office include: (1) a summonses tracking system which allows lawyers, the media, and other general constituents to determine when the summons was received in the Secretary of State's Office and when it was mailed to the defendant & court of jurisdiction; the service also provides a direct link to the U.S. Postal System tracking service which displays when the summons was delivered by certified mail; (2) new land patent database searches for the Kentucky Land Office; and, (3) new business services that offer constituents the ability to: (a) file statements of change online and, (b) view & print a reinstatement packet for organizations that have been administratively dissolved.
Online access to Certificates of Existence, Certificates of Authorization, and Annual Report forms were added earlier in 2005.
