CityMount Olivet
Ordinance
CommentsWhen DGI first mapped the boundary of the City of Mt. Olivet, they used the 1871 Act of the General Assembly, which stated that the city was a circle with a radius of 120 poles, which is equivalent to 1980 feet. BTADD obtained a GPS point from what is perceived to be the center of town, a four-way stop in the center of town, and buffered that point 1980 feet. In 2014, DGI amended its map to reflect the city’s 1981 filing pursuant to KRS 81.045, which indicates that the city is a circle with a radius of 2,620 feet.
